Although President Roosevelt's cameo performance is but a fraction of the total playing time, his timeless words echo across the decades as a reminder to the post-9/11 generation that in order to rationally confront our external enemies we must first conquer our ever-present internal enemy, “fear itself.” His admirers (President Roosevelt's backup group) provide a musical setting for the great man's words that contrasts President Roosevelt's inspirational leadership with that of lesser leaders who use “fear itself” as a tool for their own political purposes.
